On why America should tax carbohydrates*

So I used to always joke when flying back to Hyderabad that I could always figure out which gate my plane was departing from because I’d find an unusually high number of mustached men hanging around that gate. I’m funny like that.

Sadly, as it turns out the same also applies to Americans.  Hanging out in Mumbai’s airport last night, it wasn’t hard for me to figure out which gate was assigned to Continental’s nonstop to Newark.  It was the one where half the passengers were triple the width of a normal sized human being.

Thank god I’m flying via Japan.
